This is the forest primeval.
The murmuring pines and the hemlocks, Bearded with moss,
and in garments green,
indistinct in the twilight...
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The following is from the Maymont Foundation. Please visit www.maymont.org for further information about Maymont.
During the Gilded Age millionaires demonstrated their prosperity through their elaborate homes. Richmond born financier James Dooley was among this new class in American society. His home Maymont stands today as a remarkably complete expression of Gilded Age luxury and opulence. The Dooley's purchased the 100-acre rough pasture and field in 1886. The Romanesque-style mansion was completed 1893. Major Dooley died in 1912, and upon Mrs. Dooley's death in 1925, Maymont was bequeathed to the City of Richmond. There were no heirs.
Pop-Pop is home and to the park we go! Our plans, visit the Nature Center. However Wyatt made other plans. We visited the Children's Farm and walked around the park. Up hills, down hills, and by the water. It was wonderful!
On Thursday we visit Great Great Grandma. However, the weather person predicted rain for our weekly visit so we changed our plans. On Wednesday Wyatt and i hopped into the jeep and went for a visit/pizza party with his Great Great Grandma aka Big Bamma. We arrived at ten. Wyatt enjoyed the great outdoors as the weather was beautiful. He enjoyed the great indoors also. Pizza was enjoyed by everyone except me. I am on a dairy free including eggs , wheat free, gluten free diet for medical reasons. I ate chicken, yum-o. A good time was had by all.
