ANOTHER SUNDAY, ANOTHER WASHING MACHINE

Let's see what can i say about this day.  The day started with 8:30 Mass. Betsy (Betsy's Wildwood Home blog) and i usually sit in the back. This day we decided to sit where we can observe Mass better. We are currently in RCIA and are not allowed to take communion. Anyway we move to the left side of the church, right where the sun is shining throught the beautiful stained glass window. So we move over  a little. Comfortable in our new seats with a clear view of the altar, when along comes a gentleman. He has to be at least 6 feet tall! Where does he sit? Right in front of me! I am five four and half inches tall. I cannot see over his head, or through his head. I look like a bobble head doll trying to see upfront. After Mass i go home and Fred tells me we are going to buy a new washing machine. Washing machine number four i think. We have replaced washing machine, range, and dishwasher numerous times. The appliances are doomed from the start at this house. They start to sputter, cough, wheeze and then go to meet their maker. Drew and i made a little house for Wyatt to play in out of the empty washing machine box. Dinner this Sunday pork chops on the grill, field peas with green beans, and sweet potatoes. I hope Fred doesn't overcook the chops. Overcooked chops are dry and carboard like. There isn't enough catsup, A-1 or sweet Baby Ray's to make taste better if overcooked! Yes, Jamie, Drew and Wyatt are coming for dinner. They are bringing the wine. Traditions, i think i'll keep them!

FIELD DAY OF THE PAST

Fred and I  took  Wyatt to FIELD DAY OF THE PAST. It's a mini fair that comes every September. Actually its better than the  State Fair of Virginia.  Field Day of the Past has more of a small town feel to it. The way Short Pump was in the past. Short Pump has gone the way of  big business, you know malls, fast food, etc. like we need more malls and fast food joints! Anyway, we got there early so we could spend at least several  hours enjoying the sights and sounds.   There were Antique cars, which included Fire Engines, Tractors, Delivery Trucks, Dump Trucks, and so on and so on. His feet never left the ground. He sat on every vehicle at least thirty seconds!  Wyatt really enjoyed the 1923 Pullman Sleeper Car. The Midway inclued all the classic rides, a Ferris Wheel, Merry-Go-Round, etc. Don't forget the food vendors, so many of them! Which one do you pick?We decided on the food vendor next to the 4-H Dairy Barn. The BEST milkshake ever!  Fred comsumed a Bologna Burger with onions on Texas Toast. Wyatt and I (mostly I) consumed Chicken Tenders and French Fries. Fred decided to get a milkshake, I asked Fred to get me something to drink also. He comes back with a strawberry milkshake. Where's my drink, I'm thirsting to death over here! Oh, you wanted something? Really?  Just to let you know Fred did not get anything to drink either. Wyatt drank all of the milkshake! I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

GA GA AND WYATT GO TO THE PARK

Well another Monday. One thing is sure we will always have  Monday!  Great right? I'm up at 4:30 am to get ready to go "visit" Wyatt . I must be at my daughter's house no later than 6:30am. Are you serious?  She is 10 minutes from Huguenot High School!  I maybe got three hours sleep last night. I guess all that excitement from Fred actually working around the house pumped me up. Lets see, what else can i get Fred to clean? The attic perhaps? Now that's a another story. Our attic has everything we have accumulated  over the past 25 or more years. Imagine that!  Some of that stuff maybe considered vintage by now. Back to the subject. So i get at my daughter's, she already left and my son-in-law is still there. He proceeds to tell me how to take care of Wyatt today. Hey, wait a minute i had two children remember? Exhausted  i lay down on the sofa hoping that Wyatt sleeps until his mom gets home(2:30pm). No such luck, he's up at 7:30am! After a breakfast of French Toast, veggie sausage, strawberries, and juice. I get him dressed and head to the park. Did i mention the park is four or more blocks away, in The Fan area of Richmond!  Main Street traffic, VCU students on foot or on skateboard, or bike and whatever else they are on. Oh well, off we go. Hey this is great only two children here. So Wyatt plays in the sand, eats the sand and gets sand in his eye.  This does not stop him! There are two words that will get a child to sit down SNACK TIME!  I wash his sandy hands and he consumes numerous grapes. Then he's good to go. He plays a while longer when all of sudden we are invaded! Invaded by stay at home moms and their children. OH, NO TIME TO GO!  Wyatt heads for his stroller, i could not get him in it fast enough!  On our way , only four or more blocks to go. I"m working up a sweat! We finally arrive. It's take off your shoes, give me some lunch and let's take a nap!
Until morrow-Good Eve
